Questions
How quickly will I know someone's there?
The motion sensor wakes the camera in 0.4 s. Its AI checks whether it's a person, a vehicle or an animal, and an alert with a photo is sent to your phone over 4G. From there you can open live view, talk through the speaker or sound the siren.
Do I need a subscription?
No. A free SIM card is included, with 100 photos a month. If you need more, optional plans are available in the app from under £5 a month.
Which app does it use?
The free CalmGuard app for iPhone and Android. Scan the QR code to add the camera, then get alerts, photos, clips and live view on your phone. Settings and firmware updates are done over the air, so you never need to take the camera down.
Do I need WiFi or mains power?
No. It connects over 4G and runs on its built-in 5,000 mAh rechargeable battery, charged over USB-C. The 12V DC input also takes a mains adapter or an optional solar panel to keep it topped up.
Will it tell people from animals?
Yes. The AI recognises people, vehicles and animals, so you choose what you're alerted to and a cat or a swaying branch doesn't wake you at 3am.
Can I stop it watching the road or next door?
Yes. Draw activity zones in the app and the camera only reacts to movement inside them. It keeps your alerts relevant and respects your neighbours' privacy.
What happens if someone gets too close?
You get an alert on your phone. You can watch live, talk to them through the built-in speaker, or set off the siren and the white warning light.
How do I fit it?
Screw the wall bracket (screws included) to a wall, post or fascia, or use the 1.8 m olive strap around a post or tree. Screw on the 4G antenna, switch on and it's ready. No wiring.
